Hi! Thanks for stopping by. I hope you stay a while and enjoy.
Here is a little info about me:
My name is Emily Ricketts and I am a 21-year-old university student. I was born and raised in the beautiful Port City, Saint John New Brunswick by both my parents who I am so grateful for and my best friend / baby sister, Olivia (she is not actually a baby, she’s 2.5 years younger than me).
I love all most things artsy; I love music (even though I cannot sing or play an instrument to save my life), I love art, I love to read, and I love to write. I really enjoy shopping, but I hate spending money. Even though I have not done nearly as much as I would like, traveling is something that I really want to do in my life. I am a city girl through and through – some of my favourite places in the world are Toronto and New York City, but I also love the woods, the beach, and being in nature. Speaking of being in nature, hiking is one of my new loves. Climbing a mountain or walking through a forest to find a secret spot or a beautiful view is the best feeling in the world! Fall is my absolute favourite time of year. The colours are beautiful, not to mention yours truly is a fall baby. I love anything to do with the water, especially the ocean, but a pool, river, or lake will also do. Surfing is at the top of my bucket list!
Fitness is a new and growing passion for me. I am in the processes of learning to love my body and strengthen it so I can do whatever God calls me to do without the fear of being physically unfit to do it. I may eventually make a post about fitness so stay tuned!
I am a recent graduate from a small Christian university, Crandall with a Bachelor of Arts in English. Next year I will be heading to Fredericton, NB to do my Bachelor of Education at Saint Thomas University and I will also be finishing my last year of my Bachelor of Theology from Crandall and Acadia Divinity College.
One thing you will soon learn about me from this blog is that my faith is VERY important to me. Because of Christ’s sacrifice and God’s love, I am who I am today. My relationship with Jesus is the most important thing in my life and I am so thankful for the people who have lead me, mentored me, taught me, guided me, and ultimately helped me grow closer to my amazing creator.
This blog was started as a project for school, but I want to make it much more than that. My goal is to share my heart about real life stuff. I hope I can encourage you and I want to invite you to follow me on my walk of life as I grow as a child of God, live on my own as a university student, and develop as a leader while working in the Kingdom of God.
Thanks for visiting
Em
